The Construction Audit Assistance Service (CAAS) was created by SDSS in response to the raft of new legislation introduced in NSW to address a depressed market in consumer confidence for Class 2 high-rise developments. The legislation, which introduced significant changes and increased obligations and responsibilities for the construction sector, was augmented with the formation of the NSW Building Commission to police the new regime.
CAAS is a menu-based programme which covers the entire construction cycle, from peer review of designs, through staged site audits, waterproofing assessment, quality inspections to final document review for submission to obtain an Occupation Certificate (OC). CAAS allows the client to select the SDSS services they wish to engage on a project to mitigate the risk of non-compliance with the myriad of legislative obligations and the oversight conducted by the NSW Building Commission. Developers, Builders and Financiers seeking to de-risk their projects against non-compliance, avoid major delays and prevent defects, rely on the expertise of CAAS to guide a project throughout the construction cycle.
Whilst many industry players are apprehensive about regulatory audits such as the Building Commission’s OC Audit or Anytime Anywhere Audit, clients who engage CAAS throughout a project’s lifecycle are comforted by the risk reduction our expert and comprehensive independent oversight provides. CAAS has a proven track record of reducing risks of delays, capturing defects in the making and aiding projects to comply with regulatory and statutory obligations.
